What the 10 Yard Dumpster Is Best For

The 10-yard roll-off is The Dumpster Co.'s most compact container, sized for projects where a smaller, driveway-friendly footprint matters more than maximum volume. It is the go-to choice for homeowners and renters tackling a single, contained project rather than a multi-room renovation.

Garage Cleanouts

One- or two-car garages filled with old furniture, tools, and boxes fit comfortably in a 10-yard. Most garage cleanouts are the single most common reason customers book this size. Our garage cleanout planning guide walks through sorting and loading.

Attic and Basement Cleanouts

Light, boxed debris from attic and basement clearouts loads efficiently into the low-profile 10-yard without wasting cubic footage.

Yard Debris and Small Landscaping

Branches, brush, and general yard waste from a weekend landscaping project fit well, though wet soil and sod add weight faster than expected.

Small Renovation Projects

A single small room, a closet demo, or minor remodeling debris stays within the 10-yard's capacity for most projects of this scale.

If your project spans more than one room, includes an attic and a garage in the same trip, or involves heavier materials like tile, step up to the 15-yard dumpster instead. Not sure which fits? Placement Tips for a 10 Yard Dumpster

The 10-yard's compact footprint, 12 feet long and 8 feet wide, is roughly the size of a full-size pickup truck. It fits easily in most single-car and two-car driveways without blocking the rest of your property. The delivery truck needs about 60 feet of straight-line clearance to set the bin down safely, so check for low-hanging branches, utility lines, and tight turns before booking.

Driveway placement does not require a permit. If you need the dumpster placed on a public street instead, most cities in middle Georgia require a right-of-way permit. Our city-by-city permit guide covers every city in our service area.

10 Yard Dumpster FAQ

Will a 10-yard dumpster fit in my driveway?
Usually yes. The 10-yard roll-off is 12 feet long and 8 feet wide, roughly the footprint of a full-size pickup truck. Most single-car and two-car driveways handle it without a problem. The driver needs about 60 feet of straight-line clearance to set it down safely.
How many trash bags does a 10-yard dumpster hold?
A 10-yard dumpster holds approximately 50 to 60 large trash bags, or about 3 pickup truck loads of debris. That covers most one- or two-car garage cleanouts, attic cleanouts, and small landscaping projects.
What size dumpster do I need for a garage cleanout?
A 10-yard dumpster covers most one- or two-car garage cleanouts. If you are also clearing an attic, basement, or detached workshop in the same trip, size up to the 15-yard so you are not stuck booking a second delivery.
How much does a 10-yard dumpster rental cost?
A 10 yard dumpster starts at $360 for a 5-day rental. A 7-day rental is $375, 10 days is $405, and 14 days is $445, all plus tax. The price includes 1 ton of debris. Weight over that is $85 per ton, and extra days are $15 per day.
What can I put in a 10-yard dumpster?
Household junk, furniture, yard waste, small construction debris, and general trash all go in a 10-yard roll-off. Concrete, brick, and asphalt require the separate concrete-only dumpster. See the full accepted materials guide for details.
How much does it cost to rent a small dumpster for a week?
Our smallest dumpster, the 10 yard, is $375 for a 7-day rental, plus tax. If you need a little more room, the 15 yard is $390 for 7 days.
Is a 10 yard dumpster good for yard waste?
Yes. Branches, brush, leaves, and other yard waste all go in the 10 yard, and it handles most small landscaping cleanups. Soil and sod are heavy, so keep the 1 ton weight allowance in mind. Weight over it is $85 per ton.
Can a 10 yard dumpster take heavy materials?
It takes heavier household and construction debris up to its 1 ton weight allowance, with $85 per ton charged above that. Concrete, brick, asphalt, and dirt are not allowed in the 10 yard. Those go in our 20 yard concrete dumpster.
