- Short-term: the 10, 15, and 20 yard rent for 5, 7, 10, or 14 days. Most home projects fit inside two weeks.
- Long-term: 30 and 40 yard containers can stay for weeks or months with scheduled swap-outs.
- Extra days are $15 each, so a slightly longer plan is often cheaper than repeated extensions.
- There are no long-term contracts. You rent for the job, and we pick up when it is done.

What Counts as a Short-Term Rental
Short-term rentals cover most residential projects: garage and basement cleanouts, a bathroom or kitchen remodel, a roof tear-off, or a weekend yard cleanup. The 10, 15, and 20 yard containers can be rented for 5, 7, 10, or 14 days.
| Size | 5 days | 7 days | 10 days | 14 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 yard | $360 | $375 | $405 | $445 |
| 15 yard | $375 | $390 | $419 | $460 |
| 20 yard | $410 | $425 | $455 | $495 |
Prices are flat-rate and include delivery, pickup, and disposal. The 30 yard rents for 7 days at $575 or 14 days at $595, and the 20 yard concrete dumpster is $550 for 7 days.
What Counts as a Long-Term Rental
Long-term rentals are for projects that run for weeks or months: new construction, commercial renovations, phased remodels, and ongoing cleanups. These jobs usually run on 30 or 40 yard roll-offs.
Instead of one container that sits until it overflows, long-term plans use routine pickups or scheduled swap-outs. We pick up the full container and drop an empty one, so the site always has room. Our swap-out guide explains how to time them, and managing waste across job sites covers multi-site projects.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| Short-Term | Long-Term | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical length | 5 to 14 days | Weeks to months |
| Common sizes | 10, 15, 20 yard | 30, 40 yard |
| Best for | Cleanouts, remodels, roofing, yard work | Construction, commercial renovation, phased projects |
| How it ends | Single pickup when you are done | Scheduled swaps, then final pickup |
| Contract | None | None |
Extending vs Booking Longer Up Front
Extra days are $15 each beyond your rental window. That makes the math simple. On a 20 yard, going from a 7-day to a 14-day rental costs $70 more ($425 to $495), while paying for 7 extra days one at a time would cost $105.
If you think the project might run long, booking the longer plan up front is usually cheaper. If you finish early, call and we will pick up sooner. If you are already mid-rental and running behind, call before your window closes so we can extend it.
Tips for Long-Term Rentals
- Set the swap schedule at the start. A standing schedule keeps the job moving without last-minute calls.
- Make one person responsible for the call. The person on site who can see the container should call for a swap, not someone in an office.
- Call at three-quarters full. Waiting until the container overflows leads to failed pickups and delays.
- Keep the access path clear. Swaps need the same 60 feet of straight approach as the first delivery.
- Use the concrete dumpster for masonry. Keeping concrete out of general debris containers avoids overweight charges.
How to Choose
- Home project with a clear end date: short-term. Pick the rental length that covers your schedule with a small buffer.
- Remodel with contractor delays likely: book 10 or 14 days instead of 5.
- Roofing: most residential roofs finish in one to three days, and a 7-day rental gives a comfortable buffer. See our roofing dumpster guide.
- Construction or commercial job lasting weeks: long-term with scheduled swaps. See construction dumpster rental and commercial roll-off service.
- Rental property turnover: usually short-term, timed around the move-out. See the tenant turnover guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long can I rent a dumpster?
The 10, 15, and 20 yard rent for 5, 7, 10, or 14 days. The 30 yard rents for 7 or 14 days, and extended plans with scheduled swap-outs are available for long-term commercial and construction projects.
How much does it cost to keep a dumpster longer?
Extra days beyond your rental window are $15 each. For projects that may run long, booking a 10 or 14-day rental up front is often cheaper than extending day by day.
Can I keep a dumpster for months?
Yes. Contractors, property managers, and businesses can keep a 30 or 40 yard roll-off for weeks or months, with scheduled swap-outs so the container never overflows.
Do I need a contract for a long-term dumpster rental?
No. We do not require long-term contracts. You rent for the job, and we pick up when it is done.
Can you pick up early if I finish ahead of schedule?
Yes. Call us and we will arrange an earlier pickup.
